From Petropólis, Rio de Janeiro, Michele lives in Portugal since 2005. Her curiosity for cooking started at a young age, mostly as an amateur. She started by studying journalism, but soon grasped that it wasn’t her passion.
In 2010, while taking a trip to Italy, she started to think about professional cuisine more seriously. After a course of Italian cuisine she returned to Portugal and applied to the Escola de Hotelaria de Portalegre.
In 2012 with her graduation in hands, she decides to innovate in Mercearia Gadanha, and in 2013 realizes her dream… her own restaurant.
Taking her work with joy, with a young team by her side, they keep learning and evolving day by day, always with fresh and local products, and a lot of smiles.
Born and raised in Estremoz, former BTT athlete, he decided to transform his taste for competition into the joy of serving.
With a degree in hospitality, he was responsible for Mercearia Gadanha’s storefront during the first years.
In 2013 he and his associate agreed to make some innovations to the place and made it the Mercearia Gadanha we know today.
His passion for wine tasting, showed him the next direction to take: a specialization in oenology, the field he likes most.
Today he is the sommelier at Mercearia Gadanha, the person responsible for the careful selection of the finest nectars of the Alentejo region. As manager of his domains, he is always ready to share and transmit his knowledge.
